Welcome to Mrs. Dupré class! We have an exciting year ahead of us, and I’m glad that each of you is here to share in it! This is will be an exciting class, and you are going to have the most memorable year you've ever had; as a result you will do very well.

About the content:
Common Core provides a solid foundation in understanding and applying core subject area concepts to other areas of life. We will review and build on the concepts learned last year, while applying them to new concepts and developing a deeper understanding of the subject area in general. In this classroom, students are taught in a smaller environment, allowing for more individualized, one-on-one instruction, as well as reviewing and re-teaching of basic concepts.
Please review the following checklist of things to look for as we begin a new year:
This year is especially exciting, since the students will be participating in innovative learning centers and one-to-one technology. A lot of the assignments students will receive will be available online through Google classroom.
Your child and I have reviewed the classroom rules and procedures and I expect each student to follow these rules and procedures each day. Below is a copy of these rules and procedures for you to review with them as well. Thank you for all of your help and I look forward to working with you both this school year.

- Parents - Make sure to look at your child’s Agenda for updated information concerning homework, projects and upcoming quizzes and tests.
- Students will need an agenda, pencils, paper, and a note book for each class.
- Monitor homework time. Students will spend 15 minutes on homework for this class every night.
- Check Google Classroom and PowerSchools frequently for updated information.

Grading:
75% Major Assessments — Tests and Projects 15% Minor Assessments — Quizzes and Classwork 10% Homework— Students should complete and turn in all homework given School-Wide Grading Scale: 90-100= A; 80-89= B; 70-79= C; 60-69= D; <59= F Bathroom: Students are strongly encouraged to use the restroom before class begins. They have four minutes between classes for locker, bathroom, and water. Emergency bathroom breaks will be permitted when necessary, but not during the first and last ten minutes of class. Extra Help: Any students who need extra help with homework, quizzes or tests, may come to my room before school, with a signed Agenda from their first period teacher. I will provide a sign up for after school help on Mondays and Thursdays until 4pm, provided a student has a way home, and written confirmation from parents. Absences If your child is absent, all work can be found either on this site or through Google Classroom. Copies of all notes, class assignments and homework will be placed in your child’s classroom folder and may be completed once they return. It is their responsibility to turn in any missing work before the end of the quarter. |
