Unit one - The Beginning of the Universe and Earth
In this unit students will explore how the universe and earth may have come into being. The students discusses currently accepted scientific theories to explain the origins of the universe and the earth. Students will explore a wide variety of cultural believes and creation myths as they study the earths beginnings, make up, appearance, and its place in our universe. Within this unit, students will discover different maps and map forms. They will understand the relationship between the globe and our planet earth, read a solar system map, discuss star maps, and gain more basic map reading skills.

Unit 2: Life Comes to Earth
This unit focuses on the history of life on earth. It goes over the timeline of life and the timeline of people. Students will discuss the needs of man and how they've changed overtime. This unit is heavy in language arts and reading comprehension, cause and effect, comparing an contrasting, and making inferences. This is designed to meet the goals and needs of our group.
